What we collect, and why.

Who is responsible

Office Studio is a trading name of Peter J. Roch, a sole trader. Peter J. Roch is the data controller for the information described on this page, which means he decides what is collected and why.

The trading address is 86 to 90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. For any question about your information, including the requests described below, write to hello@officestud.io.

What the enquiry form collects

The form at /apply asks for your name, work email address, company, role, website, sector, team size, timing, what feels broken, what you want to improve, your likely implementation budget and whether your leadership is prepared to take part.

Every field is there because it is used to decide whether an engagement makes sense. Nothing is collected speculatively, and there are no hidden fields.

Why it is collected

To read your enquiry, to judge whether Office Studio is the right studio for the work, to reply to you, and to carry out the engagement if we agree to one.

Your enquiry is not added to a mailing list. You will not receive marketing from us because you filled in the form, and there is no newsletter to be subscribed to.

The lawful basis

Legitimate interests, under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. You have approached a studio about paid work; reading and answering that enquiry is what you are asking for, and it is what any reasonable person would expect us to do with it.

Where an enquiry becomes an engagement, the basis for the information needed to deliver it is performance of a contract, under Article 6(1)(b).

Who receives it

Your enquiry is read by Peter J. Roch. Nobody else reads it as a matter of course.

One service provider is involved in getting it to him: Resend, which transmits the form submission as an email. Resend acts on our instructions and does not use your enquiry for its own purposes. Its servers are in the European Union.

If an engagement requires a specialist collaborator, we will tell you who they are before sharing anything with them. Your enquiry is never sold, and it is never shared for anyone else's marketing.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within twelve months.

Where an engagement follows, the records connected to it are kept for six years after it ends, which is the period during which a claim could still be brought and the period our tax records have to cover.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, ask for it in a portable form, and object to us holding it at all.

If you are not satisfied

Tell us first, and we will try to put it right. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk. You can complain to the ICO without speaking to us first.

Changes to this page

If what we collect or why we collect it changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the bottom changes too. We will not quietly widen what we do with an enquiry you have already sent.
